Standing Still
So here we stand with nowhere to go.
The sun has gone, leaving the sand so cold.
Alone at the beach, by the fire pit's side.
Words of life's meaning are trying to hide.
Mans life's seem hard when they're forced to share,
I feel in my heart a melancholy care.
Is there good in bad, and better in worse?
Do we need this food, money in our purse?
Mankind can't change from his selfish ways.
Only we change, as we must everyday.
Together we pave a road on our way
From inside our souls, we are what we make.
While here alone, so quiet outside.
I'll write this poem, I'll try not to hide.
I'm sharing my heart, stating where I am,
Then I'll oblige your rights, and listen.
Though we are different- we must understand.
That for an instant, we might see the plan.
Individuals as one, sharing a quest.
With God's good will, then we'll turn on the rest.
We must now search to find what is right.
Only together can we reach past this plight,
And find the answers we've always searched for.
In the end share those words, simply: "Praise the Lord!"
